How this website handles personal data.
This policy describes how the SR Legal website handles personal data. It is written with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in view. It is the firm's website notice. It is not a complete statement of every professional obligation that may arise once the firm has agreed to act in a matter.
Who is responsible
SR Legal, P1A, LGF, Jangpura Extension, New Delhi 110014. For a request about personal data collected through this website, write to contact@sradvocates.in.
What the website collects
If you use the contact form, the firm receives the name, email address, telephone number, area of practice and description you choose to submit. Please do not include sensitive personal data, identity numbers, financial account details, passwords, or information about a person other than yourself, unless you are lawfully able to share it and it is necessary for the enquiry.
The firm's hosting provider may keep technical logs, such as an IP address, browser type and the time of a request, for security and operation of the site. The website does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
Why it is collected
Form details are collected so that the firm can read and, if it chooses, reply to an enquiry. Technical logs are used to keep the site secure and to limit misuse of the form. The firm does not sell personal data and does not use this website to build marketing lists.
Consent
The form is sent only if you confirm that submission does not create an advocate-client relationship and that you should not share confidential information through it. You may withdraw that consent by writing to the email above. Withdrawal does not affect correspondence already sent in order to respond to you.
How an enquiry is handled
The website does not keep a database of form submissions. A message that passes the form's checks is emailed to contact@sradvocates.in. From that point it is held in the firm's email, together with any reply, as professional correspondence.
Retention
Email is kept for as long as needed to correspond with you and to maintain a record of communications with the firm, and is then deleted in line with the firm's record-keeping practice. A technical rate-limit record, which does not contain the contents of your message, may be kept for a short period to reduce misuse of the form. Hosting logs are kept by the hosting provider for its ordinary operational period.
Sharing
The message is shared with the advocates and staff who need it to consider the enquiry. The site is hosted for the firm, and email on the firm's domain is handled by the firm's email provider. Those providers process data on the firm's instructions and may use servers outside India. The firm does not authorise them to use enquiry contents for their own purposes.
Cookies and local storage
A session cookie is placed so that the contact form can be protected against cross-site misuse, where the server uses a session for that purpose. Your browser also stores a session flag, cleared when the tab or window is closed, recording that you acknowledged the entry disclaimer. These are functional. They are not used to advertise to you. The embedded map is provided by Google and is loaded only on the contact page. Google may receive your IP address when the map loads, under Google's own terms.
Security
The firm expects the public website to be served over HTTPS once the domain certificate is in place. No website transmission is perfectly secure. Do not use the form for material you would not put in an ordinary email.
Your requests
You may ask for access to, correction of, or erasure of personal data you submitted through this website, or raise a grievance about it, by writing to contact@sradvocates.in or to the postal address above. The firm will respond within the time the applicable law requires. You may also have the right to seek redress from the Data Protection Board of India once the relevant procedures are available.
Children
This website is not directed at children, and the firm does not knowingly collect personal data of children through it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised text will be posted on this page.
